Denis Villeneuve’s Dune deserves to be seen on the biggest screen possible because it features one of the most immersive and visually spectacular worlds ever created. Gorgeous special effects pair well with the brilliant acting and deeply layered story. While the pacing and complex narrative may not be for everyone, this is an adaptation made with heart and immense respect for the classic source material.

Amazon’s latest Tom Clancy adaptation offers nothing new and exciting to the revenge tale. Even Michael B Jordan’s committed performance can’t save us from lackluster action and an underwhelming story that hits every familiar beat. We’ve seen it all before and sadly, Without Remorse isn’t as clever as it thinks it is.
My favourite awards show is finally here. This has been the strangest awards season by far. Not seeing the best picture nominees in theatres made me really sad. However, just like the film industry, I adapted and found the silver lining. There is nothing quite like watching an award show where who is expected to win, doesn’t win at all, and somebody else is blindsided in the best possible way. Writer/director Emerald Fennell immediately makes you uncomfortable in the most sensational way, as she presents us with a revenge tale unlike it’s ever been told before. Carey Mulligan gives us a darkly provocative and layered performance making her worthy of the top prize at the Academy Awards. Balancing entertaining with enlightening, Promising Young Woman is a film that’s executed brilliantly.

The Golden Globes have proven to be a prime example of coming up with nominations out of left field and usually snubbing a lot of nominees that many feel deserved a spot. As a result, this makes the Golden Globes really hard to predict, which is why I thought it would be fun to try and predict the winners.
